Field Day Overview

Key Activities:

• Main Attractions:

  • Spit roast by Wayne Lusted (one prepared the day before, another on the day if 150+ attendees)
  • Child-friendly activities: flower and bee hunt, “find the queen” poster game, honey-themed face painting, and honey lolly giveaways.

• Workshops:

  • Frame-making, wiring, hive assembly, and honey extraction.
  • Talks by experts (e.g., Leatherwood honey, biosecurity, and pollination).

• Competitions:
